IS-2 Heavy Tank

The IS-2 is an impressive brick-built model of the legendary Soviet heavy tank, created with collectors and military enthusiasts in mind. With 1,485 pieces and completed dimensions of approximately 355 × 120 × 125 mm, the model has a substantial presence and makes an excellent display piece.

The construction has been carefully designed both externally and internally. It recreates the distinctive IS-2 silhouette, large road wheels, tracks, rounded turret, and long main gun. Particular attention has been given to the armor shaping and external equipment.

One of the model's major highlights is its detailed interior. By removing the upper sections, builders can explore the ammunition compartment, internal mechanical elements, and hull construction. The turret is also designed as a separate module, allowing its interior details to be examined more closely.

The model features a rotating turret and vertically adjustable main gun, allowing different display positions. Detailed tracks and suspension further enhance the realistic appearance of the finished build.

The set also includes a dedicated parts storage box with four internal trays, making it easier to organize components during construction and keep the building area tidy.

The IS-2 was a Soviet heavy tank developed as an evolution of the early vehicles of the IS family. In 1943, the tank was equipped with the powerful 122 mm D-25T gun, providing substantially greater firepower than the earlier armament used on IS-series tanks.

The tank combined heavy armor and a large-caliber gun with relatively good mobility for a vehicle of its class. Later production versions introduced improvements including a redesigned frontal armor layout that increased protection.

The IS-2 was widely used by the Red Army during the later stages of World War II. Its powerful armament made it suitable for engaging enemy armored vehicles as well as supporting breakthrough operations against fortified positions.
